Record crowds flocked to Farleigh Castle in Wiltshire for the 1985 British Motocross GP. Most were there to see if Britains Dave Thorpe could maintain his lead in the world championship. As this video expertly recalls, the narrow twisting track was just the place for Thorpes army of fans to display their feverish patriotic support. Thorpe and Honda rival Andre Malherbe fought it out every inch of the way. See how the evenly-matched pair tried every trick in the book, every known tactic, to outwit the other in this motocross spectacular. At the end, Malherbe may have been the overall winner but Thorpes championship lead was preserved.
